Earning your keep

Our cats have done a great job at stepping up to their responsibilities and taking care of the rodent problem we have.  

Rebel is the only animal that is a free loader at this point.  She is really mad that the cat is on her bed but she won't leave because then the cat wins so rebel is completely miserable and the cat is enjoying this bed to nap on.  

One of our cats will eat anything, including dog food.  Rebel will wait patiently for the cat to finish and then she runs over to her food.  Again, she doesn't like it but she doesn't know what to do about it and it doesn't bother the kitty in the least.  

The cats are really good at finding rats and mice.  Unfortunately the rodents die before the cat is done playing with it so he throws the rodent around and plays with it until he is worn out.  

Once the cat is done with play time then it's time for business.  The cats eat at least a portion of half of the 
rats they find. 😵 There is nothing quite like cleaning up half a rat, or finding just a head on the ground.  One week I was finding two rodents a day for the entire week.  I think the cats are winning because the amount of dead rodents is beginning to decrease.
