We have the best 11 year old stake scout troop ever!
The scout office has told us that 11 yr old scout groups don't work and it is too hard. Well here is the exception.
If a boy doesn't like cubs just get him to 11 year old scouts and his opinion of scouting will be changed. Many boys dread leaving the stake scout program and having to return to their ward scouts when they turn 12.
We have the most amazing and dedicated leaders. I love being able to work with this group.
The past 3 weeks has been our fundraiser. We spend 3 weeks saleing tickets for our pancake breakfast and then the 1st saturday in June we host a huge breakfast. This is my 4th year involved in this program/ fundraiser.
I am so thankful to see that we hit a record high this year on ticket sales/donations. The boys and parents were great at helping this year and it makes such a big difference.
We have a large number of boys going to camp this year so it was such a blessing to have a good fundraising year.
I will admit Im glad to have this fundraiser completed.
That was the age of scouts I worked with. The main plus I found was it was a perfect age to set long-range goals. i challenged each boy to serve a mission and every single one did!
