- You don't go to the temple on your schedule; you try to figure out when the least busy time might be in the day and then you go then.
- When you are going to the temple you have to sit in the parking lot like a vulture so you can find a parking place
- When you are sent to a locker in the changing room and there isn't an open slot (remember this is not suppose to be a "busy" time of the day). It takes 4 different stalls in the "open" section to find one open locker.
- When the session is so full that they bring in folding chairs (this is the middle of the day!)
- When there are 4 rows of men in the session and the rest of the room is packed with women.
- When you get to sit by your husband during the session.
- When and 1 1/2 session takes over 2 hours
- When you sit down to do a session you don't see one person holding a temple name; everyone has brought their family names.
- When you have to wait to for your stall to open up because someone is in it when you finish.
- When you have to wait 20 mins after the session ends to get your family card because it takes so long to record them.
- When they divide up the male and female cards and you still can't get your card because the swarm of people is so thick
- When you leave the temple a car is following you through the parking lot because they want your parking spot.
- When you never go to the temple without running into people you know. Also the temple president is a neighbor.
- When the temple opens at 4:30 am for baptisms because there are so many kids waiting to do work.
- When you are at a one of your kids sporting events you are sitting behind President Erying.
- When every week in church you get to shake hands with Elder Chistopherson
- When you run into Sherri Dew at the grocery store
- When your kids friends are the grand children of the apostles.
- When your kids can go to the temple with their friends from school
- When your are at the temple to do baptisms you run into 10+ of your kids friends
- When you live less than 10 mins from 2 temples
- When you talk to your stake president and he says I will check with the first presidency when I go to work tomorrow
- When everywhere you go you can look east and see the temple
- When Costco is like black friday every Saturday
- When your run to the grocery store at 11:00pm on a Saturday night and you run into a dozen people from your ward.
- When you are driving down the road and you see Elder Uchdorf and his wife taking a little stroll.
I know there are very few places in the world where you are surround by so many people that are trying to have the same values and goals that you have.
That sounds like a truly busy temple. That is why Layton is getting a temple. Last week we had one session at 7 that had three men and three women on it. I have heard that 2 in the afternoon Bountiful is the slowest. But I don't think they are ever slow.
ReplyDeleteThe best time to do an endowment session at the Bountiful Temple is 6am. There are always twice as many men as women this session. Sheri Dew was in my session this week!
